At our January chapter meeting, we welcomed Keith Rosson (Fever House, Coffin Moon), who told us about his journey from punk music fan and artist to published novelist. He answered all our questions during an extensive Q&A session.

Virtual Book Club

We read The Devil by Name by Keith Rosson in January, then discussed it at our virtual book club meeting.

Quarterly Writing Workshop

A small but focused group of writers attended our online quarterly writing workshop in January to provide excellent readings and feedback for spooky and genre-blending recent work. 

Our next workshop will be in early April.

Member News

Katherine Quevedo’s short story “Song of the Balsa Wood Bird” was reprinted in the textbook Nowhere Lands: Exploring Utopian & Dystopian Voices (Chemeketa Press.) 

Katherine had two poems, “El Grotesco” and “The Poison Dart Frog Prince,” published in Vol. 1, Issue 3 of SpecPoVerse.  

Dan Finnegan and his band East Bay Ghosts put out new punk music with razor-sharp dark lyrics: “Concrete Vow.”

Tom Witherspoon’s short story, “Flamenco Frio”, was accepted for publication by Black Sheep: Unique Tales of Terror and Wonder. He will read this story at the upcoming COLD Themed Horror reading.

Thomas and other members shared their 2026 writing goals, with a few hoping to pitch their completed projects at Stokercon this June. Happy writing!

Elizabeth Mitchell’squiet and evocative” new book Joyce from Little Key Press was published on January 30, 2026.
