This chapter of the HWA celebrates, supports, and promotes the work of Oregon and southern Washington horror writers and publishing professionals.
- We host a horror movie night at our Chair’s house or at a local movie theater on the second Tuesday of each month at around 7:00 p.m.
- Our chapter meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. via Google Meet.
- Our book club meetings are held on the last Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. via Google Meet.
We also host private and public in-person events for our members and the community, and our table with information about how to join our chapter and our members’ books can be found at various events throughout the year.

HWA Oregon returns to celebrate pride in Salem and to share information about our chapter and parent organization. We’ll also have books and candles available from members and publishers.
Chapter Town Hall

We are hosting a town hall at our upcoming chapter meeting to discuss recent allegations about our parent organization and options for the future of our local chapter. We want to hear from you what is most important to you about this community while providing an opportunity for you to share your thoughts about the broader organization and its relationship to our chapter. Most importantly we want to work together to forge a path ahead as a group.
There will be no final decisions made at this chapter meeting, but we will explore our options and figure out where we go from here. We look forward to hearing all of your opinions, grievances, and thoughts.
