The Oregon Chapter of the Horror Writers Association
WELCOME TO HWA OREGON!
Horror Writers Association

This chapter of the HWA celebrates, supports, and promotes the work of Oregon and southern Washington horror writers and publishing professionals.

  • Our chapter meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. via Google Meet.
  • Our book club meetings are held on the last Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. via Google Meet.

We also host private and public in-person events for our members and the community, and our table with information about how to join our chapter and our members’ books can be found at various events throughout the year.

As an HWA member in this region, you may also edit your profile on the HWA WildApricot member website. After you log into your member account, click “View profile” under your name. Press the “Edit profile” button. Scroll down to the “Public Information” section. Select the Oregon chapter under the “Are you a member of an HWA chapter?” dropbox. Then press the “Save” button at the bottom of your profile.

First, we will be meeting at MLK Street Food Cart Pod (3625 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97212) at 5 PM for some dinner. Then we will head over to Dead Media Video Rentals by Mike Bennett which is a few blocks away on Fremont Street.

It’s our annual Halloween Party at BOLD, and we have a bigger, badder, dare we say bolder event planned this year! Grab a drink and food from BOLD’s excellent menu, then join us for a costume party, readings, open mic, games, raffles and prizes, and dating a book.
