This chapter of the HWA celebrates, supports, and promotes the work of Oregon and southern Washington horror writers and publishing professionals.
- Our chapter meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. via Google Meet.
- Our book club meetings are held on the last Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. via Google Meet.
We also host private and public in-person events for our members and the community, and our table with information about how to join our chapter and our members’ books can be found at various events throughout the year.

As an HWA member in this region, you may also edit your profile on the HWA WildApricot member website. After you log into your member account, click “View profile” under your name. Press the “Edit profile” button. Scroll down to the “Public Information” section. Select the Oregon chapter under the “Are you a member of an HWA chapter?” dropbox. Then press the “Save” button at the bottom of your profile.
December Book Club

What: In December, we’ll read Fever House by Keith Rosson (one of our future guest speakers!), then meet on the last Sunday of the month for our virtual discussion.
January Quarterly Writing Workshop
When: Saturday, January 4 at 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Where: Online
What: Bring writing to read, discuss, and receive feedback on. Depending on how many writers sign up, you’ll have up to 10-15 minutes for your piece.

COLD-Themed Horror Reading

What: The Horror Writers Association of Oregon invites you to listen as local horror authors share stories that all share the theme of dealing with the chilly temperatures we experience during the winter.
