Coming Up: June 2025 Meetings

We usually hold our online chapter meetings on the third Sunday of the month, but because of StokerCon and Father’s Day this year, we will meet on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, on Google Meet. Our new Chair H. A. Spector and Secretary Richard Leis will share their vision for the HWA Oregon Chapter (including quarterly in-person chapter meetings and events to be held in different regions around Oregon throughout the year), update you on HWA news, recap StokerCon 2025 (Frances, Heath, and Richard attended this year), celebrate your news, and ask you to share your ideas about our chapter and upcoming activities and events.

On Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, we’ll hold the first discussion for our new Virtual Book Club. We’re discussing Reprieve by James Han Mattson, one of the adult selections from the HWA 2025 Summer Scares series.

Three book covers on a purple background with white smoke. Reprieve: A Novel by James Han Mattson features an illustration of an isolated large house and bare trees in a snowy or grassy landscape from above, with a car parked on a thin plowed or mowed driveway, and a moat plowed or mowed around the house. The Luminous Dead: A Novel by Caitlin Starling features an illustration of a grasping hand in a cyber-looking glove with digital display on the back, holding onto the edge of a rock cliff in a cavern. Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke and Other Misfortunes by Eric LaRocca features an illustration of a woman with closed eyes, sweeping black hair, and a red shirt against a white background.
