    1. The January 2026 HWA Market Report includes recent calls for magazines and anthologies.
    2. There’s a call for academic papers for the 9th Annual Ann Radcliffe Conference (coincides with StokerCon.)
    3. The StokerCon 2026 souvenir book will be published by eSpec Books and edited by Danielle Ackley-McPhail. The cover was revealed.
    4. Check out the HWA Cybersecurity Check-Up and FAQs email for useful tips and warnings.

      1. Renew your membership if you want to vote

Member News & Announcements

  1. Niyyah, Tom, and Richard will have new flash fiction in Weird Fiction Quarterly: Artificial Intelligence 2025, coming out later this month.
  2. Tom has had a short story accepted in Black Sheep Magazine; he’ll be reading it at the COLD Themed Horror reading event at the Beaverton City Library on Saturday, January 31.
  3. Dan is a quarter of the way through the first draft of a novel.
  4. Niyyah’s short story “White Veil” has been accepted.

Guest Speaker

  • Keith Rosson is the author of the novels Coffin Moon, The Devil by Name, Fever House, Smoke City, Road Seven, and The Mercy of the Tide as well as the Shirley Jackson Award–winning story collection Folk Songs for Trauma Surgeons. His short fiction has appeared in Southwest Review, Nightmare, Cream City Review, PANK, Redivider, December, and more. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
  • Keith provided a short summary of his publishing journey from punk music fan and musician and fanzine writer and editor of punk, poetry, and creative nonfiction to successful novelist.
